Why “Badagi”
From our family, for our community's future
We are a Vishwakarma family from Chikkamagaluru. For generations our community's hands have shaped gold, wood, stone and metal. We think those same hands can shape something bigger: the future of our children.
“Badagi” means carpenter, the one who shapes wood. We chose it to honour Lord Vishwakarma and every artisan family in our district. We gave this scholarship for the first time in 2021. This is the second time, and it is again for Vishwakarma students who have the marks and the dreams but not always the money.
There are no committees, no overheads and no middlemen here. Every rupee goes directly from our family's hands to a student's bank account.

- 05Studied at a college / school in Chikkamagaluru district
- 06Scored 60% or above in the final examination

Is there any application fee?+
No. Applying is completely free.
I studied CBSE/ICSE. Can I apply?+
Yes, students of any board can apply if they passed 2nd PUC / 12th in 2026, studied Science, belong to the Vishwakarma community, and meet the Chikkamagaluru district requirements.
Can Commerce or Arts students apply?+
Not in the current application cycle. The 2026 Badagi Nidhi application is limited to Science stream students.
Do I need to upload my bank passbook?+
No. You only need to upload your 2nd PUC / 12th marks card. Bank account details are collected in the form for direct transfer if selected.
How will I know if I am selected?+
You will receive an email at every stage. You can also check your status anytime using your application ID on this website.
How is the scholarship paid?+
₹10,000 is transferred directly to your bank account (NEFT/IMPS/UPI) on the disbursement date.
